Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help lead the design of our next generation electric scooter. This engineer’s responsibilities include design, analysis, sourcing, prototyping, testing, vehicle assembly validation, quality control, engineering documentation, and more.
Responsibilities:
Researching new technologies including lithium-ion batteries, brushless motor systems, and integrated IoT control devices.
Developing end-to-end CAD models from prototyping to final handoff to manufacturers (along with associated CAE analysis).
Validate manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility
Participate in an iterative process with all stakeholders to deliver the optimal balance of form, function, performance and cost.
Mechanical design analysis including thermal, structural, design for assembly, and design for test.
Assist in engineering prototype builds and component fabrication.
Experience:
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, and 3-5+ years of related industry experience.
Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, including solid mechanics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, and knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
Experience with component design, analysis, and validation.
Skilled in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or other tools).
Experience with high volume manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, diecast, etc.
Familiarity with PCBAs and PCBA components
Experience working with 3rd parties including materials vendors and contract manufacturers.
Prior experience working in a startup environment is a plus.
